If you are planning to build, sell or rent a property in Ireland, you will need to obtain a BER (Building Energy Rating) certificate from a registered BER assessor. You also need a BER certificate to draw down SEAI grant funding for retrofit projects such as installing solar panels, heat pumps or upgrading insulation.

BER (Building Energy Rating) is a mandatory energy rating system for all homes and buildings in Ireland. BER assessments are carried out by our registered BER assessors who are fully trained and registerd with SEAI. Our assessors use the standardised SEAI methodology to assess the energy performance of your building based on its construction, insulation, ventilation, heating, and lighting.

The BER assessment is required for all new buildings and when a property is sold or rented. The rating is displayed on a certificate that must be provided to potential buyers or tenants.

The SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland) is responsible for overseeing the BER assessment system in Ireland and maintains a national register of certified BER assessors. They also provide information and guidance on improving the energy efficiency of buildings.
